is a collection of
web based software design tools.
The collection, currently consists of a
data modeling
tool (using the entity relation diagraming notation) and
a use case
modeling tool.
The tools have been built with the capability
of being launched through the web, or deployed as an application
on a desktop. This exemplifies the vision of a single
executable, cross platform application that can be deployed
in any environment that supports the Java™ 2 virtual
machine.
From the web, the application is downloaded
as a digitally signed applet, and runs using the Java™
2 runtime plug-in. If you do not have the plug-in installed
the application will point you to a web site from where
it can be downloaded. The plug-in is approximately 5MB
in size. This is a one time download and well worth the
effort as the number of applications using the plug-in
is likely to grow.
If you are in an operating environment that
does not support the plug-in, let us know, and we shall
send you a workaround.
Currently the plug-in support is available
on the Solaris™,Linux™ and the Windows™
platforms. Mac OSX ™uses a Java ™2 runtime,
as the default VM and so does not require the plug-in.
